We continue to deliver donations to community groups as part of our ‘Heartwarming Stories’ collaboration with 102.1 Edge FM & 1566 3NE.
Receiving a donation from Frasca’s Belting, Steel & Engineering this week is a warm and welcoming club in the Ovens & King Football & Netball League. After not one, but two little on-air mix-ups, Whorouly Football & Netball Club are the lucky recipients of a $500 donation.
In what has been a tough year for all sporting clubs, Whorouly was pretty excited to hear this news.

An established Club in the Ovens & King Football & Netball League, Whorouly is a family orientated Club with an active committee and supportive community that has rallied to keep the team spirit alive throughout 2020. They operate by their phrase #oneclubonecommunity and always welcome new and old players and supporters with open arms.

In a normal year, Whorouly Football Netball Club fields 2 Football Teams and 5 Netball Teams; A grade, B grade, B Reserve, C grade (U17s), and U15s. And at the forefront of Women in Football, they are also the proud host club to both Women’s and Youth girls football teams; the Alpine Lions.

After a trying year, $500 support to any football Club will go far and when asked what they may do with the extra cash injection, the Whorouly committee suggested it may possibly go towards some new equipment or a future upgrade that is in the pipeline! We wish the Whourouly Football & Netball Club great success in 2021.
